My official profession is glorified paper-pusher, but I am a farmer at heart with a love for raising plants and animals.  A couple of years ago I bought a small suburban house in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, right outside of Washington D.C.  As luck would have it, I soon discovered not only that my “new” old house was historically a farmhouse, but that the property surrounding it was still zoned as residential-agriculture.  What a happy coincidence!  Since then, I have been growing into my role as gentleman farmer and loving every minute of it.
