Peach Tree Blossom: An Auspicious Sign of Things to Come

Peach Tree Blossoms: An Auspicious Sign of Things to Come

You might remember awhile back that I planted several fruit trees, a few of which have suffered the assaults of a certain local beaver.  The peach tree, which was gnawed down to pathetic, little stump was particularly disheartening.  I didn’t think it would come back, but happily in the short span of one year it is back and kicking.  Peaches this year are unlikely, but it is encouraging to witness a tree that clearly wants to fill its purpose in life.

We are still behind in creating a system of defense strong enough to withhold beavers and other animals that could prove destructive.  Until such a system of defense is constructed, we just pray that some  force, aside from the weak chicken wire fence surrounding it, will protect our twig-like fruit tree for the time being.  That it lives at all, we think the gods are on our side.
