A Pig Speaks Out
on the joys and struggles of pigs and the people who love them.
The line that makes me chuckle the most:
If you read my schedule page, you’ll see that I wake up for breakfast at 5 am. That’s 5 am EVERY MORNING. I don’t sleep in on the weekends! Sometimes Mommy can coax me back to bed after breakfast on the weekends, but I very rarely sleep past 7:30 am.
Finnemore and Chesapeake have been known to make their “I want breakfast” grunts this early, but it is more the exception than the rule, at least for them. However, whatever eating schedule you get potbellied pigs on is the schedule they’ll try to stick to throughout the week.
Anyhow, if you’re thinking of getting a potbellied pig, you should definitely read what Angeles the pig writes about Care and Training. It is actually quite accurate in detailing some of the experiences you could potentially have with a house pig. Of course, behavior varies according to personality and how well you train them.
